HABITAT LAMP LOVE

There's a new thing of celestial beauty in my kitchen. And it's my wonderfully imposing new lampshade from the (always excellent) Habitat lighting collection
Our flat is brand spanking new, so it's been a joy to add personality to make it our home. Pieces like this Photographic lampshade are what makes it ours. And I bloody love it.
We've popped in the fanciest lightbulb I've ever bought, that perfectly highlights the delicate inner details of its reflective inner - behold, tis really a thing of beauty:

Photographic Lampshade, from Habitat, price £90

A big thanks for the Habitat team for gifting me this lovely shade.

MOSEY HOME

Loving these vintage furniture pieces picked out with a stylist's eye by Mosey Home. This new online store and Finsbury Park based shop (on the list to be hunted out soon) has a proper nice selection of vintage furniture, kitchenalia, lighting and more. Lots of pleasing things that would actually fit in nicely to real home. Always a winner with me. Could happily find space for any of these lovelies - with the Midwinter Tea Set already in line with my current craze for grid patterns

OBSESSED: CONFETTI RIOT

The name of this shop alone deserves an OBSESSED post: Confetti Riot. My kinda rebellion. However it's their Cactus print cushion that is the actual subject of my obsession this week. I'm all kinds of crazy about its simple block print style along with the cool combination of blush pink and lush cacti green.

Green and Peach Cactus Print Pillow, cotton and linen, price £24.29 from Confetti Riot at Etsy

MONDAYS ARE FOR MUGS: ARIA

Oh la la Walala! Launched for this year's London Design Festival these most excellent mugs were designed by Camille Walala, the queen of modern Memphis inspired design, especially for Aria. Optimistic brights mixed with monochome in bold lines, dots and dashes. Love.

Dalston, Shoreditch and Hackney Mugs, by Camille Walala, price £19.95 each from Aria

GRID

I've got grid on ma mind. I've got a kitchen that needs tiling and a vision in my head. It includes plain white square tiles, grey grout and a grid pattern. One day it will exist in kitchen as well. Until then all I've got is an inspiration mood board to fill my life with grid-y goodness:

LIGHTING PICKS

I've got a thing about lighting. I think it's something to do with the nights drawing in and wanting to make my gaff seem super cosy and warm (even before the woollen blankets come out).

When I've not been spending far too much on one (marvellous) lightbulb I've found myself trawling the web for lovely lampshades. So here's my perfect pick from the ever excellent Etsy:

Keep your eyes peeled though as I've actually solved my lighting probs and my lovely new lampshade will be unveiled on the blog soon. Oh it's a real beaut!

Styling the Seasons: September

A simple September Styling the Seasons - this month is going to be all about cooking from scratch and new beginnings.

Featuring my beloved A Modern Way to Eat Cook Book and favourite new plant - a very special favour from Bridges & Balloons' wonderful wedding. Happy September folks.

Thanks as always to the lovely Katy from Apartment Apothecary and Charlotte from Lots & Lotts for organising #StylingTheSeasons. It'd been a while, but nice to be back with my little contribution again!

OH GREECE

A love note to Greece. I'll be back. I promise:
You could start with the weather, blue skies as far as you can see:

Add in the sweet spot-on house we rented on Santorini

House cat Minnie:

Kudos to the host (and birthday meal chef). Check out the house here to book for the next perfect summer.

Santorini's delights were a'plenty: views for miles, red beaches, hot springs oh and those blue tops churches? As beautiful as expected and everywhere:

Even the travelling was ridiculously picturesque:

Then onto Sifnos - the tiny, perfectly pretty, untouched (high rise buidlings are banned - hurrah) island that dreams are made of. Ah Sifnos...

And one final low key sunset on the mainland...
So yeah it was alright I guess? (take me back!)
