A few times a year Midcentury Modern Shows bring their always excellent mix of mid-century modern sellers just round the corner from my gaff with the Midcentry East at Goldfinger's (just as excellent) Haggerston School. Ahead of the next show in October here's some snaps from the last one:
Gathered Cheer Social fun: six blogger friends (some lovely old ones and some ace new ones). Taken on a route around old East London town devised by me, Soumya and Ruth. Stopping at some fave haunts for shopping, eating (including bagels obvs), snapping and nattering.
My Marrakesh holiday was packed full of busy, bustling souks, tasty tagines, hanging in our riad, hammam-ing, snake-charmers, getting lost down pink-shaded dusty lanes, rugs (so many rugs), donkeys, gobbling down dates and catching precious winter sun. However it seems like all I photographed were the tiles - intricate, colourful, endlessly-clever tiles. Here they are plus a couple of other snaps I managed to squeeze in from Marrakesh's medina, Djemaa El-Fna square, Jardin Majorelle, Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs.
Countdown to holiday...T minus 5 days... Bring on the exploring, sunshine, pool side chilling, book reading, shopping, flip-flop wearing, giggles and good food. Top tips and advice for a (super) long weekend in Marrakesh gratefully received.
This week's mug is a case of look-but-don't-touch. As I can't currently find Japanese ceramist Makoto Kagoshima's pieces available for sale. But a girl can dream right? Peaceful sweetness in ceramics, I'm in love:
